"THE DREAM OF THE MARIONETTES"

I am so glad I signed on for this original musical, written by Christy Leichty and Johanna Divine; songs by Johanna Divine and Daniel Coolik.  The concept and music is brilliant.  Hilarious.  I am sharing the piano chores with Kurt Boudreaux and Dave Trainer.  This has been a very rewarding experience, working with great musicians from the Red Stick Ramblers and The Picardy Birds, among others.  Choreography by John Vincent.  performers.  And it never hurts to be pounding a piano in the presence of fish-netted theater chicks.  Don't miss this!  Call the ticket office at 337-291-1122.

"BENEFIT THE BOOGIE"

Rhonda and I thought we should do something of an altruistic nature, in celebration of reaching my five-years-cancer-free mark.  Since it was early screening and detection that saved my life, we decided to try to raise a little money for more at-risk musicians to get lung screening.  We have partnered with the Louisiana Cultural Economy - Health Care Initiative, Acadiana Center for the Arts, Tobacco Free Living and the Blue Moon Saloon and Guest House for this event. All funds will go to free health screening for musicians.  Roddy Romero and the Hub City Allstars will headline.  Twenty Years of Trouble and Mitch Reed and Friends will also perform.  This thing has snowballed like crazy, and it looks to be quite a Sunday Afternoon.  There will be a chiropractor, an acupuncturist, a healing hands practitioner, and clinicians screening for blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol.  And gumbo.  Treasure your Louisiana musicians?  Give 'em some love!

BYRON BAY BLUESFEST

Simply put, The Lil' Band O Gold will head for Australia for the continent's (or is it a country?) premier blues and roots festival. This thing looks huge - check out the site.  Forces are at work to hook up some more dates while we're there.  I'm not sure, but I think I heard you could see Russia from there.
